Wesley Minus Wesley

Wesley Minus Wesley published on Purchase

So, it’s been a minute since we’ve seen Charles Wesley.  Like 6 months to be exact.  While John was busy making his first mini-graphic novel exploring the history of the church and LGBTQ inclusion, just what on earth has brother Charles been up to?

It’s no secret that Charles is my favorite Wesley Bro, so it was quite a discipline to leave him out of my weekly comic routine for half a year.  I wanted to reintroduce my readers to Charles this week riffing off the infamous webcomic “Garfield Minus Garfield,” which describes itself as this:

Garfield Minus Garfield is a site dedicated to removing Garfield from the Garfield comic strips in order to reveal the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle. It is a journey deep into the mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb.

I think they are hilarious.  Jon Arbuckle talking to himself but no cat there with sarcastic come-backs.  So I took four of my favorite John-and-Charles interactions from the past and just erased John from the equation.  In his 6 months without his brother, Charles has just been reliving the past and playing with his imaginary brother.  Kind of sad, kind of funny.  Hope you like it.

Feel free to read the originals these were based on.
