You’ve commented and we’ve listened! This year’s calendar includes a small explanation on the print of how to read a circular calendar. This is the text as printed on the calendar:

The Liturgical Year. Christian time is paced by the story of Christ’s atonement. Christmas (Dec. 25) Good Friday and Easter (in Spring, based on Jewish Passover), and Pentecost (seven weeks after Easter) are the major holy days around which all other season fit. Each season is marked by the Sundays in it (the large numbers on this calendar). The outer circle on this calendar shows all Sundays, with each inner circle being the next day of the week, the inside circle showing all Saturdays in the year.
