Dark Night Run

Dark Night Run published on No Comments on Dark Night RunPurchase

Charles Wesley composed some of the most joyous hymns ever sung, and yet he was often seriously ill, and prone to bouts of dark sadness.  He often longed for death and said several times that he wished he had died in infancy to have missed the pain of this life and be present with God in heaven.  His wife, Sally, also had times of deep despair, and the final panel in today’s comic is a paraphrase of Charles’ thoughts to Sally in a letter he wrote her in their elder years.  These words have been a great encouragement to me lately.
